A Poem That Spoke to Me

 NOISELESS, patient spider,

I mark'd, where, on a little promontory, it stood, isolated;

Mark'd how, to explore the vacant, vast surrounding,

It launch'd forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself;

Ever unreeling them--ever tirelessly speeding them.

And you, O my Soul, where you stand,

Surrounded, surrounded, in measureless oceans of space,

Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing,--seeking the spheres, to connect them;

Till the bridge you will need, be form'd--till the ductile anchor hold;

Till the gossamer thread you fling, catch somewhere, O my Soul.

-Walt Whitman

I choose this poem because it talks about being alone and surounded by everything against you and driving threw it. Being motivated to jest go on but being wise enough to know what moves to take to get what and where you want.

fav walt whitmen poem

O CAPTAIN! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:
    But O heart! heart! heart!         5
      O the bleeding drops of red,
        Where on the deck my Captain lies,
          Fallen cold and dead.

2

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;

Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills;  10
For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding;
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
    Here Captain! dear father!
      This arm beneath your head;
        It is some dream that on the deck,  15
          You’ve fallen cold and dead.

3

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;

My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip, the victor ship, comes in with object won;  20
    Exult, O shores, and ring, O bells!
      But I, with mournful tread,
        Walk the deck my Captain lies,
          Fallen cold and dead.

You have to do somethings you don't want to sometimes

People should sometimes do things that they do not enjoy doing.
I agree with this statement because i believe that to get something you want you have to do somethings that you do not want to do. like if you want to graduate then you have to pass your classes. to pass your classes you have to do your homework and my homework was to do a blog to get a passing grade in Ms. Mcgyurts class. I do not want to do this blog but i do want to be successful and to be successful i have to lisen to what i am told by the people that guide me. so in a way if i want to be successful I want to do this blog
